For those who read last year’s letter, you will know Steve has been Captain at the golf club all year. In fact, because the club has extended its year, he is having to go through a second Christmas and New Year as Captain .... We will survive!
Inevitably the year has been very busy with numerous competitions, functions , dinners, presentations and speeches. It has been very enjoyable with many high points and just the odd low point. The Captain can easily be blamed for anything that goes wrong!
The highlights have been:-

* Father Christmas for 60 kids at the Christmas Party
* leading a committee that authorised a substantial programme of expenditure for improvement - knowing the club could afford it
* Captain’s week-end - a great 36 hole competition, lots of fun, good food and wine
* reporting a surplus for the year!
In the meantime, Georgie has kept up her golf and supported Steve throughout the year.
Early on we spent a couple of weeks in the Canaries but have not been able to take a real holiday during the year, although we have enjoyed a number of long week-ends away - N Wales, Lake District etc.
